Effort: I realize that not all of you gave the same ability in school. But if you are doing the work to the best of your ability, getting everything done and in on time, are not a classroom problem, and in general are trying your hardest, you will pass the class. But remember you must be doing everything allowed to pass. Therefore, don't ever give up just because your test scores are not up to par.

Tests: Your test will be mostly objective- multiple choice, matching, true-false, fill in the blank, and short answer.

Retakes:
If you don't achieve a 65% on any major chapter test you may retake a test on that chapter within two days of when the tests were handed back to you. You must do this on your own time, not during your history class period. The highest possible score you may receive is the lowest passing grade achieved on original exam. If you don't achieve 65% on this second exam you may keep retaking the exam until you receive a passing score. This is an excellent way of showing me how badly you want to pass the class.

Make-up Work: Make-up work is your responsibility. Your assignments will be posted on the board. Check before or after school, or with your study buddy, to get any additional assignments or materials. You will be allowed the same amount of days to make-up work for each day missed, plus one additional day.

Late Work:
1st day- 25% lost
                   2nd day- 50% lost
                   3rd day- zero credit

Class Participation: Participation points will be awarded daily for attendance, punctuality, bringing materials to class, and positive class contributions. If you find that you are losing too many class participation points, then I suggest that you see me about doing extra credit.

Grades: Grades will be calculated on total points achieved from tests, quizzes, daily work, and various projects. Grades will be posted on a weekly basis, so you will be kept aware of your current grade and eligibility standing. Click Here For Grading Scale.

Extra Credit:
Extra Credit is available. It will not be accepted the last week of the nine weeks. Talk to me if you are interested.
